British Virgin Islands 0 – 2 Montserrat
Concacaf Nations League 2026/27, League C, Group A
Thursday 1st October 2026, TCIFA National Academy, Providenciales
Montserrat extended their perfect start to the 2026/27 Concacaf Nations League with a 2-0 win over the British Virgin Islands, collecting their third straight victory and clean sheet. The result leaves the Emerald Boys on nine points from three matches in League C Group A, with seven goals scored and none conceded.
Head coach Gabriel Calderón couldn’t be prouder as his side took control early. Brandon Barzey broke the deadlock in the 11th minute with a clinical finish to put Montserrat 1-0 up. The visitors kept the BVI pinned back for long spells and recorded a 62.7 percent of possession.
The BVI found it hard to work their way into the game and managed only three shots all afternoon. Just before the break, Montserrat’s pressure told again. In the 43rd minute, BVI midfielder Joel Mars turned the ball into his own net, doubling the lead to 2-0 and all but settling the contest before half-time.
After the interval, Montserrat were content to manage the game rather than chase more goals. Defenders Jeriel Dorsett and Lenni Cirino were impressive in anchoring the back line with 53 touches each, recycling possession calmly and giving the BVI little to work with. Clear chances were scarcer in the second half, but Montserrat were never seriously troubled and saw out the clean sheet to take all three points.
