Montserrat Close Out Nations League Group Stage With Emphatic 4-1 Win in Providenciales
Montserrat win all four games to top League C Group A

Montserrat completed a perfect Concacaf Nations League group stage with a 4-1 win over the Turks and Caicos Islands at the TCIFA National Stadium in Providenciales. The result gave them four wins from four and the Group A title in League C.

Montserrat were ahead inside three minutes. Ashley Boatswain was brought down by goalkeeper Sebastian Turbyfield in the second minute, and Lyle Taylor converted the penalty. The Turks and Caicos Islands struggled to respond, and Montserrat created chances through Brandon Barzey, Jeriel Dorsett and Brandon Comley.

The match turned just before the break. Mackenson Cadet, already booked, held Boatswain just outside the area and was sent off for a second yellow card. Montserrat were awarded a second penalty, and Taylor scored again in first-half stoppage time to make it 2-0 at the interval.

The second half was scrappy, with plenty of fouls from both sides. Christopher Louisy was sent off in the 71st minute after a tackle that led to a scuffle, leaving the hosts with nine men. Montserrat made several changes, including Tyrone Baker, Jernade Meade, Dominic Richmond and Princewell Madu.

Baker made it 3-0 in the 82nd minute with a powerful right-footed finish. Billy Forbes pulled one back for the Turks and Caicos Islands with a free kick. A third red card quickly followed, with Steven Sessegnon dismissed for a second yellow after a tackle on Boatswain. Boatswain then wrapped up the scoring right at the end. He finished with his right foot after a cross from Lenni Cirino.

The win capped a flawless campaign. Montserrat opened with a 2-0 win over the Turks and Caicos Islands on 23 September, then beat the British Virgin Islands 3-0 on 26 September and 2-0 on 1 October. In total they scored 11 goals and conceded one.

Montserrat now look ahead to March. The three group winners and the best second-place team advance to the League C Championship, and group winners are promoted to League B. The Championship is scheduled for March 22-30, 2027.
