The Montserrat Football Association Inc. (MFA) participated in the Concacaf Financial Planning Capacitation Workshop held at Concacaf Headquarters in Miami, Florida, on Thursday, May 14, 2026.
The one-day workshop brought together Member Associations for focused discussions on financial planning, budgeting, governance, and the development of the One Concacaf Plan. The session formed part of Concacaf’s continued efforts to strengthen financial accountability, stewardship, and institutional capacity across its Member Associations.
Ms. Thandie Williams attended the workshop on behalf of the MFA. Her participation was particularly important as the Association continues its work during the normalisation period to stabilize its financial position, strengthen internal controls, and improve long-term financial planning. The workshop provided practical guidance to support the MFA’s efforts to rebuild confidence, enhance reporting systems, and ensure that future programmes and projects are aligned with available resources and good governance standards.
As part of the workshop, the MFA also held a bilateral meeting with Mr. Howard McIntosh, Director of Caribbean Member Association Affairs, and Ms. Dally Fuentes, Client Manager. During the meeting, the current situation of the Association was assessed, and clear next steps were discussed to support the MFA’s continued financial recovery and institutional strengthening.
Reflecting on the workshop, Ms. Williams stated:
“The workshop was timely and extremely valuable for the MFA as we continue to navigate this period of normalisation and work towards restoring financial stability. The guidance received from Concacaf, along with the bilateral meeting with Mr. Howard McIntosh and Ms. Dally Fuentes, provided a clearer understanding of the steps we must take to strengthen our financial planning, improve accountability, and position the Association for sustainable development. The MFA remains committed to rebuilding trust, improving our internal systems, and ensuring that football in Montserrat is supported by strong governance and sound financial management.”
The MFA remains committed to working closely with Concacaf, FIFA, and other stakeholders as it seeks to restore stability, improve operational efficiency, and lay a stronger foundation for the development of football in Montserrat.
