The Montserrat Football Association is proud to support the VIP Media Football Tournament, which officially opened for its fourth consecutive staging.

The tournament, scheduled to run over three weekends from May 31 to June 14, continues to serve as an important community football initiative, providing players, supporters, and football enthusiasts with another opportunity to stay connected to the game.

Giving opening remarks at the launch of the tournament, Acting General Secretary of the Montserrat Football Association, Thandie Williams, commended the organisers for their continued commitment to creating a space where football can thrive within the community.

She noted that football is more than just a sport, describing it as a powerful tool for bringing people together, building discipline, encouraging teamwork, and strengthening community spirit.

“Football has always had the ability to unite people. The MFA is pleased to support this tournament because we see the value it brings, not only to the players on the field, but to the wider football family and the community as a whole.” Williams shared.

The MFA views its sponsorship of the event as part of its wider commitment to keeping football active and visible within the community. The Association recognises the importance of supporting initiatives that create playing opportunities, encourage participation, and help sustain interest in the sport.

The Association also applauds the VIP Media family for their efforts in organising and sustaining the tournament, and for their continued contribution to community sport and local football development.
