The Montserrat Football Association is excited to announce the start of U14 training sessions in collaboration with the Montserrat Secondary School, as part of its continued commitment to developing youth football across the island.
With an important opportunity on the horizon this summer, the MFA is moving quickly to ensure our Under-14 players are active, prepared, and ready to make the most of it. In the absence of a full technical team, Acting General Secretary Thandie Williams reached out to school-based coaches for support with conditioning, technical preparation, and practice sessions.
Training sessions are currently being held at the Montserrat Secondary School compound and Blakes Football Field, giving young players the chance to sharpen their skills, build discipline, improve fitness, and grow in confidence on the field.
This collaboration represents more than just training. It is a meaningful step toward strengthening the football development pathway in Montserrat and keeping our young players engaged as the Association continues its work to rebuild and enhance its technical structure. The MFA hopes to have its technical team in place soon to provide further direction and support for player development, national programmes, and future competitions.
As part of its wider development plans, the MFA will also be reaching out to young players in the diaspora. This effort is aimed at strengthening connections with Montserratian talent overseas and creating opportunities for eligible players to contribute to the future of football on the island.
The MFA extends sincere thanks to Coach Kenford Samuel and Coach Kelvin Pond for generously sharing their time, knowledge, and expertise with our young players. Their support reflects the spirit of teamwork, service, and community partnership that is essential to growing the game.
We also express our gratitude to the Director of Education, Dr. Gregory Julius, and Principal Mrs. Cherlyn Hogan for accepting the MFA’s request and helping to facilitate this important collaboration with the Montserrat Secondary School.
The MFA looks forward to continued cooperation with the school and the Ministry of Education as we work together to create more opportunities for young footballers in Montserrat, both at home and abroad.
